Essential Duties:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Perform reception duties such as receiving and routing telephone calls and messages, receiving department visitors and answering questions
Log visitors for inmates as well as visitors who enter secure office area
Transcribe taped interviews, reports, and correspondence to paper copies
Log, file, and release video tapes, release tapes on approved requests
Type letters, memos, reports, and warrants from clear copy, draft, or dictation
Enter department data and training logs for Field Operation personnel into the computer
Track overdue payments and follow up on bills for juvenile transport
Process requests for Department of Transportation and other law enforcement related data and forwards it to emergency communications
File original documents with Clerk of Courts, including writs, temporary restraining orders, executions, real estate transfers on Sheriff’s sales and civil process payments
Additional Tasks:
While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this classification and may also be performed by other unit members.
May oversee/restrain adult and juvenile female inmates or detainees, if female jail staff is unavailable.

Minimum Training and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training in secretarial, clerical or accounting with one or two years of related experience. Computer knowledge with proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets and transcription experience, and CPR certification or the ability to obtain required or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
