We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Human Resources/Store Room/Traffic Assistant at our plant located in Muscle Shoals, AL.
Essential Job Duties:
This position is responsible for a wide range of Stores, Traffic, Human Resources, and Administrative Support services.
STOREROOM
Directs all storeroom functions for the plant, including ordering, shipping and receiving to meet plant and corporate expectations and requirements.
Provides plant personnel with products and service information as needed to establish proper specifications for plant requirements.
Works with vendors on quality concerns and delivery issues.
Works with Purchasing to resolve vendor/material problems and information requirements.
Works with corporate personnel in the disposal of surplus scrap and waste materials in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
Provides assistance with procurement of special items in the absence of the team leader.
Monitors minimum and maximum stock requirements to ensure inventories are kept balanced.
Provides direction regarding accurate labeling of domestic and overseas product shipments and samples, as well as special customer requirements, for both hazardous and non-hazardous shipments.
Coordinates and prints product shipping labels.
Prepares and ships domestic and overseas samples within DOT and GHS guidelines.
Manage raw materials
TRAFFIC
Works with appropriate customer service departments to ensure customer needs and expectations are fulfilled on all shipments.
Prepares reports of production inventories, shipments and product volumes, establishes and maintains records for all products manufactured, shipped and inventoried.
Processes sales order information to insure accurate and timely invoicing.
Prepares and distributes orders and bills of lading for all outbound shipments.
Prepares and distributes daily shipping schedule, loading instructions and specification sheets.
Coordinates rail transportation schedules for shipping cares in accordance with federal regulations.
Assists in solving customer and customer service questions.
Works with carriers to establish a delivery schedule to meet customer needs.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
Provides Muscle Shoals Plant Staff and Human Resources support such as maintaining personnel and other plant files, assisting with staffing activities, new hire orientations, and producing routine metrics reports.
Provides a high level of systems expertise with a significant emphasis on PeopleSoft data and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) administration.
Maintains a working knowledge of various departmental and facility initiatives as well as related policies, procedures, and practices.
Maintains complex databases and processes, as required, to support plant staff and related plant activities.
Coordinates site wellness program
Audits HR files and data periodically to ensure accuracy.
Provides support for HR related projects including, but not limited to, recruiting, training, benefits facilitation, affirmative action, community relations, budgeting, service and recognition awards, and employee activities/events execution.
Provides a customer service focus by answering employee requests, questions, and/or directing them to the appropriate source.
Schedules, coordinates, and attends meetings, as requested, ensuring availability of needed resources and supplies.
Provides clerical support, as required, for maintaining procedures, processes, updates, routing, and distribution.
Responsible for organizing and prioritizing heavy workloads with accuracy and minimal supervision, meeting critical deadlines.
Performs routine miscellaneous clerical tasks, such as opening and distributing mail, faxing information, typing, filing, and performs other duties as assigned.
Provides assistance to all site groups as needed
Qualifications
SAP experience required.
Shipping experience required.
Associates Degree in Office or Business Systems preferred or
equivalent office machine experience.
Requires understanding of principles and practices of Human Resources with 2+ years of Human Resources administrative or
Human Resource application experience.
Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and strong computer literacy.
High proficiency in Microsoft applications
Normal office functions with manual dexterity for typing, filing, and general office work.
Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift
56
lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
Additional Desired Qualifications
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or HRIS database.
Working knowledge of Taleo or similar recruiting system.
