The Operations Supervisor will supervise all functional segments of the organization to ensure its successful accomplishment of established strategies/objectives. Responsible for the overall success of assigned services within all areas. Has direct reporting responsibility for customer requirements and concerns. Will assist the site Operations Manager in managing customer’s issues and/or concerns. Additionally, the Supervisor will assist with metrics reporting, provide guidance, and training to other team members. Will handle multiple tasks; prioritize work for themselves and others and follow-up as necessary with clients or employees.
- Proactively audit and coordinate established procedures, systems and standards for overall management of on-site operations.
- Implement new policies, procedures, and process improvements for all areas to ensure financial viability of the organization.
- Accountable for supervision of all operational areas.
- Compliance with local, state and federal laws and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Establish and maintain training and education programs insuring continual development of operations staff.
- Participate in weekly operation meetings, informing various staff and management of current condition of projects, current business outlook, future business outlook, safety updates, and any new HR policies or updates.
- Solicit participation and assistance of various staff and customer personnel in problem resolution while maintaining customer goodwill.
- Create a positive work environment resulting in a highly motivated operational effort adhering to the highest standards of integrity and business ethics.
- Will administer and control Progressive Corrective Actions of staff members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related fields preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- 5 years of direct experience working in a logistics environment. Ideal candidate will have knowledge/previous exposure in a 3PL environment
- Must have 2+ years of increasing leadership and supervisory responsibilities
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience in a high volume, multi-seasonal environment; Must be able to work weekends, late evenings, and overtime during the peak season
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with emphasis on customer service
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to react quickly to resolve problems;
- Self-motivated, positive attitude, high-energy individual who can multitask well
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively others toward mutual objectives and able to influence across non-direct reports on cross functional teams.
- Continuous improvement mindset; working knowledge of Six Sigma standards and processes
