Job Summary
The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky is seeking candidates for a nine-month, non-tenure track lecturer position for 2016-2017, effective August 16, 2016. The appointment is for two years with the possibility of renewal and contingent upon funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application reviews begin July 5, 2016, and continue until the position is filled.
The lecturer will teach 21 credits per year that may include: Introduction to Fitness, Psychology and Sociology of Physical Education and Sport, Introduction to Tests and Measurements, Nutrition and Physical Fitness, Strength and Conditioning for Sports, Introduction to Exercise Testing and Prescription, The History and Philosophy of Physical Education and Sport, and other courses offered by the department. The lecturer will have the opportunity to serve on graduate student masters degree committees. Additionally, the lecturer will be expected to collaborate with Kinesiology and Health Promotion faculty and provide service to the department, college, university, and community as appropriate.
Minimum qualifications include an earned masters degree in exercise science, physical education, sport management, sport psychology, sport sociology, or related program. Work-related experience in sport, fitness, and physical activity professions is desirable. Prior teaching experience in higher education is preferred as is a completed PhD in exercise science, physical education, sport management, sport psychology, sport sociology, or related program.
