Server Catalog Program Manager - Cloud Server Infrastructure Team

The Cloud Server Infrastructure Engineering (CSI-E) team within WSSC (Windows Server and System Center) is responsible for server hardware definition, design and development of Server and Rack Infrastructure engineering for Microsoft's online services. We work closely with Microsoft product groups, industry partners and researchers to architect and develop server hardware solutions that meet the requirements for our cloud services platforms at the lowest possible cost of ownership (TCO).  

To support this effort we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who can support our CSI group in Redmond.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas -

E2000 power distribution, Compute/Storage, Chassis Manager board power design.

Drive detailed of board level voltage regulators and board layout for product development that fulfills the product business goals while meeting schedule, cost and performance goals.

Execution of detailed electrical design through system-level design and engineering, validation, and manufacturing activities at contract manufacturers and suppliers

Interface across multiple product development disciplines: Hardware, Mechanical, Firmware, Usability, EMC, Thermal, Acoustics, Tooling, Program Management, Reliability, Compliance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement.

Detailed project planning to successfully execute on delivery dates.

Manage the detail design development with internal and external resources, and provide tactical contribution and subject matter leadership throughout the conceptual and detail design stages of product development.

Assessment and recommendations of emerging technologies and technology roadmaps.

Qualification Summary:

•   BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field

•   5+ Years Electrical Engineering board power design and power design and analysis experience

•   Strong product development experience (5+ years), in high-volume, electronics)

Mathcad, Spice and MATLAB/Sigrtiy/PowerDC/PowerSI (or equivalent simulation tools)

•   Schematic capture and layout using Verilog/Cadence/Mentor (or equivalent tools)

•   Board level debugging, qualification.

•   Demonstrated competencies in power design on consumer electronics products that successfully reached volume production.

•   Ability to work independently and under pressure - must be a team player.

•   Excellent communication (written and oral) and collaboration skills.
