Category Manager
(Indirect Goods and Professional Services)
Salary:£55,000 – £65,000 plus fully expensed car, bonus & excellent benefits
Location: Buckinghamshire/ Berkshire
We currently have an exciting opportunity to work and develop within a market leading, Multi-National organisation who are looking for a Category Manager to join their headquarter based strategic procurement category management team as the lead across the Indirect Goods and Services categories.
You will have the scope to develop a range of key categories through a period of significant growth, focusing on driving value and supplier performance management.
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent category management exposure and well trained in category management principles
- Strong supplier performance management experience
- Good appreciation of professional procurement with a focus on supplier relationship management
- Significant customer and stakeholder experience
- Proven track-record of working cross-functionally to deliver improvement projects
- Strong commercial and numerical aptitude
- Excellent communicator with strong written and presentation skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to influence and drive behaviour changes from suppliers
- A hands-on approach with the ability to think laterally
- Graduate calibre, CIPS qualified
Responsibilities:
- Develop new category management methodology
- Manage existing service deals, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Promoting best practice procurement to stakeholders
- Evaluate and collaborate at a regional and global level on opportunities to leverage scale
- Develop long term partnerships that deliver sustainable value
- Development of tools for reporting, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions
- Analysing spend with a focus on total cost of ownership, quality and service
- Monitoring market trends to ensure commercial advantage
