Duties:
The G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Chief, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service. Board certified or board eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is preferred. The board certified physiatrist (unless authorized by VA Central Office) will function as the Chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS). The person who holds this position is responsible for providing direct care to patients; as well as all assigned clinical, educational, and administrative duties and requirements. The Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service will participate in a variety of meetings at the service and medical center level. The Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service serves as the primary advisor to the Chief of Staff and Medical Center Director on physical rehabilitation programs at the medical center. In this capacity, the Chief is fully accountable and has responsibility for the effective and efficient management and supervision; (planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating) of physical rehabilitation programs and therapy services. Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Functional Statement Title/#: Chief, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service. Relocation/Recruitment Incentive: Relocation and/or Recruitment Incentive are authorized for this position Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are authorized for this position. The Department of Veterans Affairs offers Permanent Change of Station (PCS) relocation services. Permanent Change of Station is the relocation of a household due to government convenience in connection with a transfer between stations or facilities.
