The NPSB will review your individual qualifications, education, professional training/internship(s) and professional experience to determine the most appropriate salary and grade based on your individual accomplishments. If position is filled by reassignment, individual selected will retain grade and step of position currently held.
Description of Duties: The Chief Nurse for Acute Medicine is a senior nursing leadership position that reports to the Associate Director, Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive (ADPCS). This individual assumes direct administrative responsibility and authority for the clinical operations and nursing personnel in Acute Medicine inpatient units and clinics. The Chief Nurse for Acute Medicine:
- Functions as an administrator, educator, and consultant and utilizes management theory.
- Assists nurse managers and advanced practitioners to carry out the functions and activities expected of them.
- Contributes ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care, policies, and objectives for the enhancement of nursing organization-wide.
- Assists in policy-making activities as related to customer service and the overall functioning of administrative and clinical programs.
- Collaborates with other health care staff to establish and maintain programs that cross service and/or discipline lines and influence organizational mission and health care.
