Executive Assistant to EVP, Washington DC - 2015


In support of an ELT Member, perform advanced, diversified and confidential duties that may be administrative in nature or project-based.


Essential Duties:


  • Perform advanced, diversified and confidential duties that may be administrative in nature or project-based.

  • Interact with company employees at all organizational levels to gather and disseminate information. Work is typically of a critical or confidential nature.

  • Maintain calendar for manager, overseeing complex and confidential meeting requirements.

  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, etc.

  • Undertake projects at direction of senior management.

  • Interact with clients and other persons external to RTI.

  • Understand department and organizational structure, operations, policies and procedures with the ability to facilitate response to staff questions and/or communicate information.

  • Assist with monitoring and forecasting of operating resources.

  • Provide guidance to and/or mentor other support staff.

  • Demonstrate advanced computer application skills and trains others on system usage.

  • Provide varied analytical and specialized administrative support for staff at the Executive level.

  • Coordinate special projects and execute research and data analysis tasks.

  • Analyze problems, determine approach, compile and analyze data and prepare reports and recommendations.

  • Coordinate activities between departments and outside parties.

  • May assist with coordinating workflow for other Administrative Staff.

  • May be involved in participation and coordination of special projects.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Classification into this job function requires the incumbent to report to a manager on the Executive Leadership Team and to be performing the duties associated with this job;

  • Work requires broad and comprehensive experience, skills and a thorough knowledge of organization policies and practices;

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, entering information in a variety of formats such as narrative, manuscripts, business correspondence, statistical tables, etc;

  • Knowledge of the operation of office equipment, personal computers and communication systems;

  • Experience with calendar management, making domestic and international travel arrangements, managing expense reports, and planning meetings strongly preferred;

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, delivering timely work under tight deadlines and multiple priorities;

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel;

  • Ability to multi-task;

  • Ability to travel several times throughout the year to domestic and international locations and stay in those locations for multiple weeks;

  • Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing;

  • Ability to work independently;

  • Attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Ability to obtain proper security clearances as noted by contracts.

  • Foreign language skills a plus
