As a result of continued and sustained growth Comland PLC, a commercial property investment and development company, are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team. Comland also manages the accounting function of its joint venture residential development business, Alfred Homes Ltd, a house builder focusing on upmarket developments throughout Hampshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Expansion of the team is required as a result of increased workflows from our residential development arm of the business.
We are looking for a candidate with solid accounts experience gained from a similar role who can hit the ground running, with good communication skills, an outgoing personality who thrives on working within a small team, under tight deadline pressures, a hands on attitude and ability to work on their own initiative.
Reporting to the Finance Manager and working as part of a team you will be responsible for accurate processing and maintenance of the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Cash Book. The responsibilities outlined below are far from exhaustive and you may be required to fulfil many different and challenging roles to ensure that the finance function runs efficiently.
Collate and disperse purchase invoices to departmental heads for approval and coding
Review accuracy of invoices, matching of delivery notes and approvals and posting to SAGE 50
Timely and accurate processing of supplier/contractor invoices
Prepare twice-monthly payment runs and upload payment to online banking system for manager approval
Dealing with Suppliers and Contractors via telephone and email
Liaising with Site Surveyors and Site Managers with matters relating to suppliers
Communication with contractors in regards to CIS registration/ administration
Bank Reconciliations
Reconciliation of service charge accounts
Provide ad hoc reports to managers when required
Process intercompany recharges on to ledgers and transfer where necessary
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, SumIf formulae, Pivot Tables)
Excellent knowledge of Sage50 and Sage50 Jobcosting
Knowledge of CIS and Construction VAT desirable
AAT, Part Qualified CIMA, ACCA studier or qualified by experience
