As a result of continued and sustained growth Comland PLC; a commercial property investment and development company, are looking for a high calibre finance manager to join the team to help manage the accounting function. Comland also manages the accounting function for its joint venture residential development business, Alfred Homes Ltd, currently focusing on upmarket developments throughout Hampshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Expansion of the team is required as a result of increased workflows from our residential development arm of the business.
Reporting to the Finance Director the desired candidate will have the capability and experience gained from a similar role, a solid understanding of financial and management accounting practices, with the aptitude and commercial acumen to be involved more broadly in the business.
Day-to-day tasks will vary greatly and will include:
Management of a small accounts team
Management and preparation of company accounts, including full period end statutory accounting and preparation of a comprehensive quarterly management accounts pack
Cashflow Management and reconciliation of all cash books and bank accounts
Review and authorisation of sales and purchase invoices
Variance and sales analysis
Management of VAT, CIS, P11d and other HMRC returns
Management of the financial aspects of all other ledger related transactions
Ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
Skills required:
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, SumIf formulae, Pivot Tables)
Excellent knowledge of Sage50 and Sage50 Jobcosting desirable
Knowledge of CIS and Constuction VAT desirable
