The Mathiowetz Construction Company is involved in the highway heavy road building andexcavation industry. We are currently seeking a GPS Survey Technician.
Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to apply traditional land surveying techniques and be willing to learn trigonometry. The Mathiowetz Construction Company requires a highly self motivated individual with good trouble shooting, problem solving and communicationskills. This position requires an individual wanting to learn more and develop new ways to apply this technology to our industry. This individual will assist project management with tracking costs. This is a seasonal position generally running from late April to early November.
Job Requirements: Needs to understand basic math skills as it relates to GPS systems.(fractions, angles, ratios) Must understand and apply traditional survey methods and comparisons to GPS methods, be able to read and understand plans, as well as be able to stake using traditional methods. Must be able to perform quality control checking plans versus the GPS model for accuracy. Trouble shoot, problems accomplish minor repairs in addition tothe ongoing maintenance and care of GPS equipment. Will need to maintain a DOT health card and eventually obtain a Class A CDL. Be safety conscious in all aspects of your work.
