Specialized clerical work requiring a thorough understanding of the operating policies and procedures applied in preparing and maintaining records, and processing client case loads in a functional unit of Arrowhead Regional Corrections.

Distinguishing Features of Work:
An employee in this class performs a wide variety of procedures and routine administrative tasks in processing case records and assisting clients and the public. Duties include assembling data and preparing forms, records, and reports; drafting original correspondence explaining semi-specialized procedural requirements to clients and the public. The work is performed under the direction of the Unit Supervisor.

Selection Process:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
- Ability to type from clear copy at a rate of 40 w.p.m. net.
- Demonstrated ability to operate personal computer based systems.
- Proficiency in operating word processing software.
COMPUTERIZED WRITTEN EXAM (100% of scoring process):
If you have taken the Information Specialist I exam and have an active passing score, you do NOT need to retake this exam. However, you must submit a separate application to be considered for this position.
If you haven’t taken the exam and wish to do so, you must submit an application before you can schedule an appointment to take the exam. Appointments can be made by contacting Human Resources at 218-726-2422. Exams are offered Monday through Friday at either 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m by appointment (limit of 5 per session) in the St. Louis County Human Resources Office, located at 100 N. 5th Avenue West, Room 1, Duluth, MN.
One evening test session will be offered in the Duluth Human Resources Office on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
You must complete the Computerized Written Exam by Thursday, April 2, 2015.
When you arrive for your appointment, you must bring picture identification and the system generated ID number assigned to you by the on-line application system. Calculators, digital cameras and other communication devices containing calculator functions are NOT permitted. Please allow 3 1/4 hours for this exam.
