Duties:
Provides around the clock imaging interpretation services to remote client locations Interprets diagnostic digital radiography, CT, MRI and US examinations of the head, spine, neck, body, extremities and internal organs as appropriate. Accesses studies for interpretation through the VISN 16  Picture Archiving and Communications System(s) and reports findings electronically through the VISN 16 voice-recognition dictation software. Communicates and documents communication of life-threatening findings immediately to referring physicians at remote facilities within 60 minutes of discovery. Functions in a professional manner in all relationships with management, co-workers and referring physicians. Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy. Protects the data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc. Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving e-mail. Uses the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) to access information in the Medical Center Computer System. Successful candidates will enjoy working in a quiet and technologically sophisticated teleradiology center. Client facilities will identify studies for TRC interpretation and TRC physicians will render interpretation through a dedicated PACS worklist. Administrative and PACS support will be provided. Successful candidates must have effective communications skills. Life-threatening findings will be reported verbally to client facility physicians. The position demands compliance with VA policies, Joint Commission requirements and procedures as well as those of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. Total salary will include base component and market pay. Final salary will be determined by local Physician Pay Panel. Physicians are eligible for annual performance pay and incentive awards.Work Schedule: Operation is 24/7, with rotating shifts; work schedules to be determined.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Moderate lifing, 14-44 pounds; light carrying (under 15 pounds); reaching aboce shoulder; use of fingers; both hands required; walking 6 hours; standing 6 hours; both eyes required; depth perception; ability to distinguish basic colors; ability to distinguish shades of colors; hearing (aid permitted); mental and emotional stability; sitting 8 hours.
