JOB SUMMARY
The Registration Clerk is responsible for procedures necessary for hospital admission and outpatient registration. The Registration Clerk collects required patient data, initiates/updates medical records, participates in collection of deductibles and co-pays and ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations. Performs general reception duties, including greeting patients and visitors, providing directions and directing patient to clinical areas. Works closely with nursing personnel, as well as with physicians and their staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One year patient registration experience
- Exposure to insurance verification & authorization fundamentals
