Summary of Position:


IREX seeks an international development professional with proficiency in French to provide management and implementation support for a portfolio of education/higher education/youth/leadership projects including a USAID funded higher education program in Morocco. The individual will provide daily headquarters support and management for this portfolio of programs


Summary of Responsibilities:


  • Manage major components of a portfolio of education/higher education/youth/leadership projects including a USAID funded higher education program in Morocco;

  • Contribute to and manage the production of IREX deliverables including toolkits, handbooks, research tasks, trainings and workshops, and others, including deliverables focused on building the capacity of higher education administrators/faculty in the area of career development;

  • Track program expenditures and develop and monitor program budgets;

  • Manage administrative aspects of program including staff travel to the field, program finances, field or DC based trainings/workshops, etc.;

  • Contribute to program reports (quarterly, annual, M&E, etc.)

  • Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation, analyze results to inform project implementation;

  • Represent IREX and EPD Division interests both within and outside of IREX

  • Liaise with funders upon request;

  • Supervise subcontractors and consultants; and,

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Five years of progressive experience in international development, with a focus on higher education, education, youth development, and/or student exchange programming;

  • Familiarity with USG regulations and compliance issues;

  • Demonstrated program management experience, including proven cross-cultural communication skills and ability to manage field implementation from headquarters;

  • Superior writing, editing, and oral presentation skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and plan strategically and creatively to meet specified objectives;

  • Strong organizational skills including ability to prioritize and multi-task;

  • Experience with higher education programming and/or career development/youth employment a plus;

  • International work or study experience preferred;

  • Master"s degree in international affairs, education, or related field preferred;

  • Previous experience in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region preferred; and,

  • Proficiency in French required; proficiency in Arabic a plus.
