Wellsville Servicenter. Applicants must live within a reasonable commute distance of the Wellsville
Service Center located at 349 South Brooklyn Avenue, Wellsville, NY 14895 or be willing to relocate.
A Crew Chief/Equipment Operator will work as part of a construction crew and will be responsible for
the installation of gas mains and services as well as operation of excavation equipment, primarily a
mini-excavator or a backhoe. In addition, the Crew Chief/Equipment Operator will assist in other
excavation, installation and maintenance operations that include:
• leak repair
• manual excavation
• plastic pipe fusion
• mechanical fitting work
• lubrication and minor vehicle upkeep
• manual recordkeeping/ updating operating records
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in the operation of a
mini-excavator or equivalent is required. The physical capability to work outdoors in all types of
weather and the ability to work in and around hazards and difficult to reach areas is required. In
addition, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver’s license. Prior experience working in
the natural gas industry would be a plus for this position.
