To provide support to all Jordan Health Services representative regarding State / Federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures related to Compliance & Regulatory Affairs and HIPAA.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist, as directed, in the development, oversight, and maintenance of Jordan Health Service’s Corporate Compliance Program.
- Responsible for maintenance of Compliance Department policies via electronic format to ensure availability to all JHS
representatives.
- Participates in the annual review, revision, and distribution of these policies.
- Assist the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in conducting internal Compliance and HIPAA training programs, normally on an annual basis, or directs others to do so.
- Assist in the development of a process for tracking staff training completion.
- Develop systems and processes for monitoring subcontracts, renewals, and revisions.
- Assist in the review of payer and vendor contracts for compliance or regulatory risks, while maintaining data base of all contracts.
- Responsible for oversight of annual sanction screening of all employees, physicians, vendors, and agents of Jordan
Health Services, coordinating resolution of ‘potential’ matches with operations managers, as appropriate.
- Work with the CCO, as directed, to resolve compliance concerns
Direct activities for internal investigations related to potential or actual Compliance or HIPAA violations.
- Conduct and oversee periodic compliance / regulatory audits under the direction of the CCO.
- Assist in the annual aggregation of audit data.
- Participates, as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer, in due diligence activities.
- Assist the CCO in the preparation of an annual report regarding the compliance program, activities throughout the year, and an evaluation of the program’s effectiveness.
- Assist in the receipt and review of questions and complaints related to the protection of health information, patient privacy, and violations of Jordan Health Service’s privacy practices.
- Serve as liaison between departments to respond to questions or concerns to ensure that Jordan Health Service
Compliance & HIPAA policies are implemented, consistent and coordinated.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer.
Education/Experience:
- Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse.
- Must have Hospice experience.
- Degree in a field related to health care, risk management, law, or information management preferred.
- Willing to obtain Certification in Healthcare Compliance (or similar certification) within 18-months of employment.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of home care operations and the flow of protected health information throughout the agency preferred.
- Understanding of Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to home health care, preferred.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with home care employees and business associates.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures and effective training programs on compliance and patient privacy regulations.
