Admissions/Release Spec, Sheriff Dept - Kenosha County - Kenosha, WI

Under direct supervision, may perform some or all of the following duties: Performs admissions/release

tasks relating to inmates at the Kenosha County Jail. Obtains personal history and charge information and enters data

into computer. Enters cell transfers. Interprets various legal documents and applies charges to inmate records.

Prepares necessary forms and reports on visitors, bonds, and cell assignments. Prepares necessary forms and files

pertaining to issuance of bonds. Receives and processes incoming and outgoing inmate mail. Maintains financial records

for inmate funds. Monitors the intake security area. Processes mug shot and fingerprint information. Acts as jail

receptionist, answering the telephone, taking messages, and referring calls. Works at jail counter, assisting the


public and giving information. Performs other duties as required or assigned. The Kenosha County Jail is a 24 hour/day,

7 day/week operation. Employees must work holidays and weekends and must be able to work any of the existing shifts.


Must be able to work overtime when needed, with or without advance notice.


QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and post-high school education in secretarial science or

a minimum of one year experience as an office worker. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including a PC/


computer terminal, telephone, fax machine, photocopier, and calculator. Ability to perform in a multi-task environment.

Basic math and cash handling skills. Ability to assemble and tabulate data. Ability to understand and follow oral and

written instructions. Ability to enter alphanumeric data at 7,000 keystrokes per hour. May be required to stand up to


8 working hours per day with or without reasonable accommodation. Requires a background free of felony convictions.
