Cashier - Columbia University - New York, NY





Routine work performed under immediate supervision that involves calculation, receipt and custody of cash and charge purchases. Set up cash register with sufficient change obtained from supervisor. Calculate the cost of items purchased by customer and enter on register. (Cash or charge). Collect cash and make change. Collect cards for charge customers and scan on register. At the end of the shift, clear register and record the cash received and hand over cash to supervisor with bank. Perform other duties as assigned by management personnel.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant


High School diploma and/or equivalent required.

Some experience/minimum six months. Ability to calculate and operate cash register.
