Police Assistant


SUMMARY STATEMENT


Maintains the security and safety of people and property on the State Capitol mall. Performs related duties as assigned. This is a competitive classification.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Must be at least 18 years of age; have a high school diploma or GED; must be a citizen of the United States; and have a minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience involving public contact.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license.

Will be required to operate an x-ray machine and metal detectors.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Varying shifts and locations.

May be physically demanding and occasionally hazardous.

Requires lifting, repetitive hand and eye movement, and the use of a variety of office and police-related equipment.

Will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.


Progression to the next pay level/step requires an overall performance rating of at least “Standard” in the last 12 months.


Must successfully complete the examination process.
