Tesco Travel Money is recruiting for Travel Money Advisors with responsibility for buying and selling foreign currency to customers within the store.
There’s never been a more flexible way to escape your daily routine and earn some extra money. Whether it’s leaving the washing up for Washington, or going from breakfast to Brazil – as a Travelex employee you’ll get to spend your shifts listening to all the stories about your customers’ holiday destinations and adventures, while leaving your home life behind.
We like to think of it as one of the many perks of the job. And they don’t end there:
Our Salary is £7.00 per hour.
- 22 days holiday (pro rata)
- Option to buy or sell holiday entitlement
- National incentive scheme
- Contributory pension
- Flexible benefits including childcare vouchers
- Discounts and cash back offers with 1000s of retailers
- Discounts at Tesco staff canteen
- Opportunity to study for NVQ in Customer Service
Having a passion for listening and interacting with our customers is just one of the many attributes we look for. You’ll also need to build relationships while delivering the best customer service and offering expert advice on their travel money. As well as your obvious numeracy skills, you’ll use your drive, determination and resourcefulness to promote our products, working to achieve and exceed your targets.
The role requires flexibility as you’ll be working in shifts. These operate on a rotation basis and will include weekends. We’re looking for people who can take on additional hours if colleagues are on leave or help is required in neighbouring stores (travel expenses will be paid).
There are various shifts throughout the day. The earliest start time is 08:30 Monday – Friday, latest finish time 20:00. Between 08:30 – 19:00 on Saturday, and between 10:00 – 17:00 on Sunday. Opening hours may be reduced in winter months.
You’ll also get the chance to study for a NVQ level 2 in Customer Services. There are plenty of career opportunities within Travelex as well as training and support.
So what do you need? Ideally you’ll have a retail, sales or customer service background. Experience working with foreign currencies is not essential, as full training will be provided. You’ll also have to pass a numeracy test, be able to provide a 5 year checkable history, plus pass credit and criminal record checks.
This varied role will draw on your selling, customer service, communication, attention to detail and numeracy skills.
