Administrative Secretary I job - Portage County - Stevens Point, WI

Description of Duties: This position is responsible for the office operation, including inventory, purchasing, deposits, payroll, and assisting with budget, bookkeeping and records management.

This position performs a variety of routine clerical, secretarial work in assisting the administration of various components of the Department. Duties include: greet and assist the public, telephone reception, general correspondence on the PC, mailings, emailing, filing, photocopying and faxing.

Clerical support is provided to the Department Head, the 4-H Youth Development Agent and the Community Resource Development Educator or to the Family Living Educator and the Agriculture Agent. Cross trains on other county positions within the department.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • A minimum of two years of professional office experience required.

  • A minimum of one year of computer experience required. Proficiency with technology required.

  • Experience working with and/or knowledge of UW-Extension programs at county, district and state levels preferred.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle for work-related travel
