Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area international development management consulting firm. SI’s mission is to improve the effectiveness of international development programs in improving people’s lives. We provide a full range of management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations, and policies. We provide services globally in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, project and program design, organizational capacity building, and gender and social analysis. SI services cross-cut all development sectors including democracy and governance, health and education, the environment, and economic growth. SI’s clients include US government agencies such as USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the US Department of State, bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, foundations, and non-profits.


Objective:


Social Impact is seeking a Professional Development and Organizational Development Advisor to design, deliver, and evaluate professional development activities (held in the U.S. and internationally) for the USAID Bureau for Global Health Professional and Organizational Development (GHPOD) Project. GHPOD provides these services primarily to the USAID Bureau for Global Health in Crystal City, Virginia, and also to other USAID Offices and Bureaus, as well as to Missions. The current contract (and this position) is through August 2016.


Qualifications:


  • At least seven years’ experience designing and facilitating strategic planning and performance management training in the areas of orientation, technical skills, management and leadership, personal effectiveness, and team effectiveness. Potential topics are: Coaching and Mentoring; Preparing Results and Logical Frameworks; Developing Performance Management Plans; Planning for and Performing Evaluations, and other performance-related topics as requested by the client.

  • Experience designing, implementing, and/or evaluating multi-faceted adult learning approaches including distance-learning, blended learning, instructor-led training events, and tailored on-demand trainings.

  • Have experience in learning technologies (such as SmartBoards), webinars, and other innovative training methodologies.

  • Experience developing and implementing team-building activities.

  • Ability to identify, contract, on-board, monitor, and manage the work of suitable consultants for the delivery of professional development trainings.

  • Experience in quality assurance monitoring—how to develop quality assurance guidelines based on Donald L. Kirkpatrick’s four levels of evaluation for training programs preferred.

  • Must be physically located in Washington, DC area or willing to relocate.

  • Must be available full time.

  • Must have an advanced degree in professional training, organizational development, or international development-related discipline and demonstrate knowledge of and skills in adult learning techniques.

  • Must be a strong writer and presenter in English; a self-authored writing sample is required.

  • Must be a creative, flexible, team-oriented contributor, and innovative thinker.

  • Knowledge of and experience with USAID and USAID’s global health work is preferred.

  • A candidate with professional development as well as organizational development experience is preferred, as well as certified coaches.
