Job Summary : American City Business Journals is seeking a dynamic professional to join its customer service team. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, with a proven track record of success in the field of customer service. Position requires data entry skills and the ability to multi-task.
Primary Responsibilities : * Communication. Customer Service Representatives are responsible for keeping up with all types of communications, including incoming phone calls, emails, mail and faxes. Reps must be able to assist customers by taking orders, answering questions accurately, and ensure that the customer’s needs are met. Customer Service Representatives are the first operative a potential customer or subscriber will reach. * Product Knowledge. Customer Service Rep must have full knowledge of all Business Journal products, as well as products produced by our sports divisions, NASCAR Illustrated & Sporting News Yearbooks. * Inside Sales. CSR must be able to handle inbound sales calls for the Business Journal Lists & Leads products, and our line of sports publications. CSRs need to be able to provide knowledgeable information regarding our products and understand customer needs to ensure that the customer receives the most accurate info, while showing our products in the best light. * Computer skills/Data Entry. Customer Service Reps must be able to learn all applicable software programs. Customer information gathered must be accurate and entered correctly and in a timely manner. Orders and quotations should be processed quickly. Returns and exchanges should be done accurately and in a timely manner to ensure that inventory is correctly maintained. * Accounts Receivable. CSR will work as part of a team to ensure accurate accounting of receivables. This will require any data entry, billing, and follow up needed to assure payment for all products is received. * Other. Customer Service Reps should be prepared to assist with any other task or project assigned by the Business Manager or General Manager. * Contribute to a positive team environment.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements : * Strong phone skills a must. * Effective time management skills. * The ability to exceed expectations in a results-oriented environment. * Professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. * College degree preferred. * Experience in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
