Seasonal Employee (Dollar Bay) - SEMCO Energy - Dollar Bay, MI

This position is responsible to perform all functions required to assist in various day-to-day activities in the areas of general service work, construction, Pressure Transmission & Storage, and all operations work. Reads meters, assists with collections, riser changes, large meter re-builds, service re-routes, valves and general maintenance, leak survey. Provides customer service and assists with other office/clerical tasks. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of a General Education Development Certificate. Must be capable of completing Operator Qualification Program and operations of associated equipment/tools. Working knowledge of computers and software is preferred. Ability to work independently. Ability to deal with the public. Must be able to obtain CDL License if required, possesses a valid driver’s license, and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Safe Driving Policy. Must be able to walk at least 10 miles per day in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, walk, climb, push, pull, lift and carry 20-50 lbs., twist, reach above and below shoulder levels, fine finger movements. Must be able to work in climates of extreme cold / extreme heat. Potential exposure to stinging insects / insecticides and possible requirement to be in Respirator Program.
