Our HappyCity host program is led by passionate and dedicated volunteer hosts and their teams to organize six (6) HappyCity events (comprised of three (3) flagship events and three (3) themed events) during a 12 month period. Each host represents their city and under the guidance of HappyCity, works with their community to co-create a culture of happiness and well-being in their respective city.
Q1: What is expected as a HappyCity host?
A1: As the primary host, you are expected to organize at minimum 3 of 6 HappyCity Flagship events and 3 Themed events throughout a 12 month period. Our Flagship Events include:
– Live Work Play [HAPPY] in [name of your city], March 20*
– [HAPPY]City = [COMPASSIONATE]City
– Walk [HAPPY] in [name of your city]
– [HAPPY] Hours in [name of your city] OR Paint [HAPPY] in [name of your city]
– TEDx [name of your city]
– [HAPPY] Places To Work For in [name of your city]

Q2: What are the Themed events/talks?
A2: Themes are selected in advance as a derivative of the ten (10) domains of happiness : 1) Psychological Well-Being 2) Education, Culture, & Arts3) Work4) Time Balance5) Environment6) Financial Well-Being7) Governance8) Social Support9) Health10) Community Vitality
Q3: Can there be co-hosts?
A3: No. We require one point-of-contact for each city who serves as the official host, who serves as HappyCity’s brand ambassador. Once you become a host, you’re free to create members to join your team to do what you have to do to co-create a culture of happiness and well-being in your city.
We recommend there be a person on your team to handle the following scope: 1) communications/social media, 2) community outreach, 3) program development, 4) fundraising, and 5) volunteer coordinator.
