Position Requirements
This position is in a high volumn call center environment. Previous experience in the medical billing field is highly preferred. This position will greet all patients and visitors to the billing office, answer and forward incoming calls and will be responsible for various other projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
Answer and forward incoming calls in a timely manner
Provide patients with accurate and helpful information regarding their account status. Process credit card payments
Negotiate budget payments
Handle escalated calls in a professional manner Work returned / suppressed mail
Verify patient eligibility in appropriate payer applications Sort and forward correspondence to appropriate parties Work internal audits
Other duties as assigned
Education: High school diploma or equivalency required , college degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowlege:
Knowledge of medical billing; Knowledge of basic medical coding and terminology; Computer literate with the ability to work between multiple computer systems
Skills:
Excellent customer service skills; Detail oriented.
Abilities:
Able to multi-task in a busy environment; Able to adapt in an ever-changing healthcare field; Must be able to work independently and as a team; High level of professionalism; Strong internal and external customer service skills; Maintain a positive work environment.
