The Operations Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the shipping, receiving, inventory management, decontamination, surgical set replenishment, and kitting processes within the Distribution Center. This position directly supervises a team of Surgical Set Technicians, Materials Handlers, and Shipping Clerks who are responsible for performing inventory transactions; pick/pack/ship of orders; cleaning and inspection of sets and loose inventory; assembly of new sets; and standard inventory control processes, such as cycle counts, in accordance with Quality System, standard operating procedures, and corporate financial, human resources, and other relevant policies. The Supervisor is responsible for achieving quality, productivity, and customer service goals for all operations areas within the distribution center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and supervision to the team including regular coaching, feedback, training, and performance assessment.
Establish team and individual performance goals aligned with corporate objectives.
Direct the workflow within the distribution center; establish priorities to achieve customer service, quality and productivity goals.
Maintain, review, create and publish operational metrics & key performance indicators; evaluate performance based on performance targets.
Ensure all system transactions and required documents are accurate and timely.
Review and update Quality System standard operating procedures and policies on a periodic basis to ensure document accuracy.
Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, safety, and inventory management policies within the distribution and set replenishment areas.
Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to the distribution, set replenishment & warehouse process.
Plan, schedule and execute new set builds and/or new product introductions, as required.
Collaborate with other functional areas to ensure timely information flow and alignment of shared goals and projects.
Assist with all audits as required within the distribution center. Remediate any deficiencies or recommended improvements in a timely manner.
Analyze data with spreadsheets and create high level presentations.
Model and lead a positive and professional team environment.
Work with integrity and uphold organizational values and brand promises.
Perform other duties as required or assigned. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Logistics & Supply Chain preferred.
APICS or equivalent certification a plus.
5-7 Years’ experience supervising people in a fast-paced assembly, production, distribution, or related environment, including providing coaching and feedback and performance assessment.
2-4 years working in ISO 13485 medical device environment or FDA regulated facility.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads and manage people and technology resources.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required, including team building and conflict resolution.
Ability to establish goals and monitor key performance indicators.
Strong problem solving skills and attention to details required.
Strong computer knowledge required, including Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems, Oracle a plus.
Continuous improvement training such as Lean, kaizen, or six sigma.
Project management skills.
Must be hands-on, active in the operations area and knowledgeable of processes and ERP system steps.
