United States of America: Compensation & Mobility Analyst


The Compensation and Mobility Analyst is responsible for the coordination, administration and streamlining of the Global Mobility program, including international allowances and relocations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for Expatriates and Third Country Nationals (TCNs), HR colleagues, Contracts, Project Staff, and Payroll & Accounting in reference to the global mobility program. The Analyst is also responsible for successfully coordinating and administering MSH’s Achievement Awards program and may also be responsible for other compensation projects as assigned.


Specific Responsibilities


Administration of Allowances for Expatriates and Third Country Nationals (TCNs) and Relocations (60%)


Responsible for the administration of full Expatriate/TCN life cycle (on boarding to end of assignment) allowances. Serve as the primary point of contact to Expatriates and TCN’s, HR colleagues, Finance, Contracts, and Project Support staff.


  • Partner with HR Talent Acquisition team to successfully execute onboarding activities, including determining eligibility, creating and distributing terms of assignments and annexes upon hire, delivering orientation/education to assignees, and coordinating employee relocation with Travel and Procurement departments.

  • Work closely with Contracts, Project Staff and Payroll & Accounting to coordinate approvals and to process updates to employee allowances.

  • Ensure accurate and timely administration of biweekly processing of expense reimbursements, advances, and updates to payroll allowances.

  • Coordinate with Finance and Legal regarding tax-related policy and concerns.

Streamline Processes and Improve Workflow (25%)


  • Independently develop ways to improve mobility processes, work flow, and collaboration between departments.

  • Support larger projects aimed at creating efficiencies for the mobility program by developing initial drafts of project and communication plans, documenting policies/practices and work flows, and providing input or recommendations.

Administration of MSH Achievement Awards Program (5%)


  • Responsible for ensuring execution and administration of MSH’s Achievement Awards program according to established project and communications This may include drafting and coordinating communications, reviewing and/or preparing nomination materials for consideration by award sponsors, updating OLLIE, and tracking spend against established budget.

Focal Analyst/Liaison for Medevac and Security Evacuation Policies (5%)


  • Function as the primary point of contact and program administration for MSH’s insurance and subscription policies for employee evacuation coverage.

  • Work with Benefits Manager, coordinate with vendors, administer and create program materials for participants.

Total Rewards Support (5%)


Knowledge and Skills


  • Requires strong analytical skills and computer skills, including MS Office, and specifically, intermediate to advanced MS Excel Proficiency in MS Access and MS PowerPoint a plus.

  • Previous experience with USAID contracts and regulations a plus.

  • Self-starter with competence to assess priorities, manages a variety of complex activities simultaneously in a time sensitive environment, and meets deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills with a demonstrated ability to work with all levels in the organization and communicate effectively regarding sensitive and confidential matters.

  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on details and accuracy.

  • A high degree of flexibility; proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects, and to work effectively and efficiently.

  • Strong research and problem solving capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; additional language skills are a plus.
