Project Summary: **
MSI is currently seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and/or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to support the monitoring and evaluation of projects involving these disciplines. Such projects generally fall under the rubric of “workforce development,” may be located anywhere in the world (including the USA) and are supported by national governments, bilateral and multilateral donors, and/or private sector foundations and businesses.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate(s) will have significant subject matter expertise in TVET and/or STEM education to contribute to MSI teams responsible for performance monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of TVET/STEM education projects. The position(s) will not themselves require M&E skills, but experience with and/or knowledge of basic M&E approaches would be a candidate advantage. Immediate need exists for a possible project in Thailand.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of a MSI Team Leader and with the support other MSI staff:
- Serve as a SME covering TVET and/or STEM education as part of a multi-member team tasked with developing and implementing monitoring systems to assess performance of projects intended to strengthen TVET and STEM education efforts undertaken by either governmental or private sector parties.
- Serve as a SME covering TVET and/or STEM education as part of a multi-member team tasked with evaluating the outcomes and impact of TVET and STEM education efforts.
- May contribute to the building of partnerships and awareness-raising of the value of STEM education and career technical education represented by effective TVET programs.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in education, business administration, engineering, mathematics, the sciences or relevant technology field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ hands-on experience with the development and/or execution of TVET programs and/or STEM education, including classroom teaching.
- Familiarity with private sector workforce requirements is preferred.
- Related professional experience in emerging economies/middle-income countries (e.g., Egypt, Colombia, South Africa, Indonesia, etc.) highly preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills which are associated with successful STEM education.
- Professional fluency in English, including speaking, writing and reading.
