The selectee will perform packing services to enable proper preservation, packaging, and shipping or assets stored in support of Strategic Systems Programs in direct support of the Trident Submarine force, Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific and its assigned support contractors. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform common Packer tasks, under normal supervision, including experience ensuring shipments comply with laws, regulations, and directives; using prescribed packing, preserving, packaging, marking, labeling, documentation, classification, and certification prior to release for all modes of shipment for standard items; using standard documentation including special handling labels, shipping codes, and safety data; complying with prescribed the methods and techniques to preserve/protect and/or pack standard items; performing standard packing of hazardous, non-hazardous materials, or AA&E items; using packaging and preservation equipment, and preservatives; using desiccants, preservative oils and cleaning solvents; using tools and machines common to packing; using computerized information sources; using prescribed containers, cushioning, and other packing materials appropriate to the size, shape, type, weight, fragility, mode of transportation and destination.
