The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the building. May be tasked with assisting facilities and equipment problems and for finding possible solutions. Responds to smaller maintenance requests and provides assistance in larger ones where needed.

Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities :
- Assist in maintenance and repair of the facilities and equipment as needed
- Assist in the installation of new equipment technologies and support the production staff
- Respond to minimal maintenance requests and help with finding the best solution
- Assist with maintenance jobs completed by outside contractors
- Assist in the maintaining of the operating condition of buildings and equipment
- Operate common hand or power tools
- Observe all safety rules in the production areas:
- Wearing Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Follow lock out/tag out procedures
- Follow proper tie-off procedures
- Help in post process / receiving / and anywhere else directed
- Review and Maintain information related to VOSHA and EPA
Key Performance Measurements :
- Response to facilities and equipment problems is fast and complete according to Shift Leaders and Production Staff
- Assist in verification of Equipment meeting OSHA standards
- O.E.E. shows improvement
- Correct handling of hazardous material and waste
- Keep Maintenance shop in a clean and organized state
- Data for preventive maintenance, OSHA, EPA and other agencies is accurate and up to date.
- Assist and maintain Maintenance and Repair records properly
Qualifications:
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Most work (90%) will be spent in factory like environment
- May be required to move up to 50 lbs. several times a day
Minimum Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of relevant industrial experience
- Demonstrated minimum experience in 2 out of the 6 following areas
- Electrical
- Pneumatic
- Hydraulic
- Mechanical systems
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Ability to learn, understand and read equipment schematics
- Willingness to expand knowledge to other related areas through formal training
- Ability to use the appropriate systems to record maintenance data, order maintenance materials, etc.
- Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is desired
Desirable Previous Experience :
- Some experience in maintenance in an industrial aerospace environment is desired
