Operations Supervisor - National HME - Pensacola, FL





National HME has an immediate need for a full-time experienced and driven Operations Supervisor to lead our new location opening in Pensacola, Florida. We’re growing – come grow with us!

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the monitoring of:


  • quality assurance operations,

  • procurement of equipment and supplies,

  • supervision of personnel, inventory control,

  • fleet management, and

  • training and development of teammates.

The Operations Supervisor ensures that the branch is operating in a fiscally sound manner while achieving the company’s mission, vision, goals, and standards in accordance with the policies/procedures of NHME.


National HME provides home medical equipment for hospice patients nationwide. We are dedicated to understanding the Heart of Hospice by exercising urgency, compassion, and understanding in everything we do. NHME is accredited by HQAA for hospice medical equipment services as well as clinical respiratory services. It is our goal to provide the highest quality equipment and to ensure the customer’s quality of life and continuity of care are held to the highest standard.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all patients are cared for in accordance with NHME standards.

  • Communicate with all mid-level management and staff regarding our standards of service.

  • Complete ongoing employee reivews for personnel.

  • Perform daily review of supervised personnel and assure staff are performing their jobs.

  • Review time sheets to identify potentially avoidable overtime, and schedule personnel accordingly.

  • Review Admin and Technician on call schedules to ensure proper coverage monthly.

  • Address behavioral issues as needed according to progressive discipline policy.

  • Provide secondary authorization for all requested PTO from staff.

  • Meet weekly with staff to discuss improvements, issues, and service standards.

  • Complete all required education, certification, and competency testing for all positions managed.

  • Complete competencies for delivery technician and warehouse positions.

  • Review HIPAA procedures annually with staff and document accordingly.

  • Review company’s computer software to ensure timely completion of all orders.

  • Review all route sheets to identify productive and nonproductive technicians.

  • Review lost equipment report to ensure prompt steps are taken to resolve and locate equipment.

  • Review and complete weekly patient equipment confirmations in company’s computer software and edit information such as patient demographics, equipment per diem rates, and additional rates specified by contracts.

  • Review rental equipment report for accurate billing of special items and timely pick up of equipment no longer needed.

  • Assure hospice discharge reports are received and reviewed and that patient followups are conducted.

  • Assure personnel are providing adequate patient education and patient surveys.

  • Review all purchase order requests from mid-level management and submit to corporate.

  • Oversee ongoing processes for equipment scheduled services, and assure compliance with standards.

  • Audit office continuously on HQAA standards and compliance, and oversee safety plan.

  • Report accidents/incidents promptly to corporate in accordance with NHME policy.

  • Arrange all services needed for the office, warehouse, and vehicles.

  • Observe company protocol and policy regarding Respiratory Therapy.

Qualifications:

  • 3-years experience in operations, safety and supply chain required. Experience with durable medical equipment is preferred (DME).

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferable, but may be substituted by related work experience, 2 years industry related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must demonstrate practical knowledge of computers, software, and products applicable to industry.

  • Additionally, the applicant is expected to demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental program structure (Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements) and department policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, as needed and have the ability to demonstrate effective time management skills while working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

  • Must demonstrate proficient ability to foster professional working relationships, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills organization-wide.

  • Applicant must demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or government regulations and effectively present and debate any assortment of information relevant to their area of expertise and designated responsibilities and duties with members of the Company and on behalf of the Company when appropriate.

  • Additionally, the applicant must demonstrate the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
