1. Ensure the business affairs of the trucking department are conducted in a legal and efficient manner.
2. Supervise trucking on road operations ensuring company expectations are met in relation to set goals.
3. Ensure dispatch can operate at a level of lowest cost operations.
4. Maintain a high level of departmental morale.
5. Ensure dispatch personnel are cross trained in other areas of the business such as dock and maintenance shop with a working knowledge of each business unit.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- BS in a related field or 10 years in a private fleet or transportation/distribution operation.
- Advanced Access, Excel and Power Point skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in Spanish is an asset but not a requirement
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a very fast paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- High level of transportation management
- Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is required
