Our programs are enriched by our expertise in adult and youth learning approaches, a wide range of disciplines and sectors, and our extensive experience in every aspect of project design, implementation and evaluation.


With funding from the State Department Bureau of Near East Affairs, Office of Assistance Coordination, Iraq Programs, Tasawi (meaning “equality” in Arabic) is an initiative to reach 2,500 disadvantaged Iraqi women with extensive English and Microsoft Office training. Through training and further professional development support, participants will improve their confidence, workplace knowledge, and employability. The program is currently partnered with 13 NGOs across Iraq and anticipates partnering with up to 20 NGOs over the course of the Program to deliver training where disadvantaged women currently live and work, as well as build the core capacity of NGO partners to ensure program sustainability. We are seeking a Program Assistant to provide administrative support across all components of the Tasawi Program.


Job Summary / Responsibilities:


• Provide administrative support on core project operations, including but not limited to setting up vendors in Costpoint financial system, initiating and tracking fund disbursements, and processing expense reports and vendor invoices.
• Enter and update project data in project tracking and management systems.
• Maintain project files and database.
• Assist in creation and maintenance of project materials, including but not limited to internal process outlines, standard form templates, and standard communication templates.
• Support updating and maintenance of project social media, including Facebook pages.
• Conduct research and compile project data for quarterly progress reports and other project reporting, as directed.
• Assist in making the logistical arrangements for project staff and/or consultants travelling from the United States to Iraq and for project staff, consultants, and/or project participants traveling within Iraq to attend project monitoring, training, and workshop activities. Logistics may include coordinating international air travel with FHI 360 Travel Services and arranging hotels, ground transportation, room rental, and catering.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.


Qualifications:


• Associate’s Degree or its International Equivalent – Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
• Typically requires 0-2 years of programs and administrative support experience. Prefers a minimum of 1 year work experience in an office setting.


• Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy; ability to work independently and as a team member, take initiative, meet deadlines, and be flexible.


• Demonstrated initiative to be a productive team player.
• Demonstrated attention to detail in the management of information and data.
• Strong computer skills including use of databases and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, including Sharepoint. Familiarity with Deltek preferred.


• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills


• Demonstrated initiative to be a productive team player.


• Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
