Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform independent experiments and carry out laboratory research.
- Perform experiments that may include behavioral, cellular, immunological, microbiological, molecular, physiological and/or virological assays.
- Perform experimental animal surgery, tissue culture or modeling studies.
- Perform analysis using microscopy, imaging or behavioral approaches.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, analyzing and writing up results, and troubleshooting.
- Design experiments and contribute to the preparation of research posters, manuscripts and grant applications, as needed.
- There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to the position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate student currently accepted into the Clinical Translational Sciences Ph.D. graduate program at the University of Arizona.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of cancer biology, immunology, neuroscience, or physiology are preferred.
- Adept at basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an ability to learn statistical and graphing programs (such as Prism Graph Pad, Adobe Photoshop, etc.).
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently under PI supervision.
