The Cubs Childcare Supervisor (Director when referred to by Vermont Division of Licensing) is directly responsible for daily operations and services to children and their families for the development of the CBCCPP’s (Center Based Child Care and Preschool Programs) program and for supervision of staff and volunteers. Responsible for oversight of daily operations and ensure congruency with state licensing standards.

S/he will be responsible for:


  • The daily safety & security of the children registered on a daily basis.

  • Hiring and compliance of staff files.

  • Coordinating staff schedules.

  • Responsible for creating a LAWA and employee based programs

Requirements:

  • At least twenty-one years of age

  • Qualified as a teachers associate, and shall have completed either;

  • A Vermont Early Childhood and Afterschool Program Director Step One (1) Certificate; or successful completion of a three (3) college credit course in program management for early care and education or for school age care and education, or in staff supervision related to early care and education of children; and a three (3) college credit course in curriculum, or within one (1) year of employment start date a three (3) college credit course in managing an early care and education program that includes budgeting and financial management, approved by the Division.

  • Thorough knowledge of Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations

  • Enthusiasm about working with children

  • Experience managing and supervising a staff

Full time staff can expect to work 5 days (40 hrs.) per week. Hours are 7am – 3pm. During busy periods, you may be required to work 6 days per week. Due to the nature of business levels, you will be required to work weekends and holidays. We will attempt to offer consecutive days off and accommodate special scheduling requests, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to satisfy all requests.
