The work will develop you technically and professionally. A mentor, an employee within the Land organization will be assigned to you. You will also be assigned a recently hired Land GIS Analyst to assist your transition into the ConocoPhillips’ corporate environment.
Assignments will typically be at our site located in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities may include:
- Complete project or projects targeted to experience level, working with mentor and other land staff and presenting the results to Lower 48 Land Management.
- Generate, revise and update maps to assist Land efforts using ArcMap and WebMap mapping tools
- Incorporate 3rd party data, as needed, into company owned databases for mapping purposes
- Manipulate and refine spatial databases for Land analysis
- Determine and implement appropriate projection for asset projects
- Participate in the Land Mapping Users Group
- Research data issues and resolve inquires for mapping and information requests
Qualifications
Basic/Required:
Preferred:
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Previous summer internship with an energy company
- Petroleum Land GIS Mapping experience
- Experience with ArcGIS or ESRI based products and land mapping tools
- Experience with any of the following Land Systems and Software; Tobin, Bolo, Quorom, Business Objects, Spotfire, Landworks, Drilling Info, Enerdeq
- Working knowledge of Oil & Gas leases and Exploration & Production agreements along with their associated provisions
- Ability to develop realistic plans need to accomplish objectives and team goals
- Results oriented and demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering results while maintaining a safe environment
- Innovative and encourages new ways of looking at problems, processes, or solutions
- Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals
- Ability to effectively communicate and transmit information so that it is received and understood in the way that it was intended
