United States of America: Development Coordinator


BACKGROUND:


The Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC) works to improve the lives and defend the rights of refugee and internally displaced women, children and young people. As an advocacy organization, the Commission is dedicated to bringing about systemic changes that lead to greater respect for the rights of uprooted women, children and young people. The organization strives to effect policy and programmatic change with broad, worldwide impact.


SCOPE OF WORK:


The Development Coordinator will play a key role in the Women’s Refugee Commission’s fundraising operations ($8 million annual budget) as a member of a five-person team. Under the supervision of the Senior Development Officer, the Development Coordinator will provide essential support for the development department including operational and essential infrastructure support; database management; prospect research; processing gifts; and assisting with donor cultivation and events.


Responsibilities


Data Management


· Serve as Administrator for Raiser’s Edge donor database and liaison with WRC staff and database vendor;


· Enter, update, and analyze development and organizational information in database as well as generate reports, queries, exports and lists for mailings and appeals;


· Point person for organizational database management in Raiser’s Edge.


Donation Processing and Analysis


· Query giving reports and review output for accuracy;


· Manage online donor giving;


· Liaise with Finance to reconcile revenue;


Luncheon/Individual Giving


· Assist with annual Voices of Courage fundraising luncheon and other events;


· Assist the Senior Development Officer with cultivation and donor stewardship—preparing materials and packages for presentation; coordinating meetings; and responding to queries;


· Draft and edit donor correspondence;


Development Department Assistance


· Provide administrative and infrastructure support to the Development team;


· Support Development department data collection and analysis;


· May provide support to grant proposals and reports if/as needed;


· Other tasks assigned by Director.


REQUIREMENTS:


· Bachelors’ degree;


· Strong IT and computer skills and proficiency in Word and Excel;


· Raiser’s Edge Certification and 1-2 years’ experience or 3 years in-depth experience working with Raiser’s Edge (experience building queries and importing/exporting constituents);


· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks;


· Excellent analytical skills;


· Flexible approach to work; the ability to work in a fast paced environment;


· Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner;
