The Network Switch Group at Broadcom has brought some of the most complex and cutting edge networking ASIC’s and multi-chip solutions to market over the last decade. The group develops ASIC’s for L2/L3 switch routing. These products support the latest networking protocols and features as well as manage extremely large volumes of traffic of the order of several Terabits/sec. These networking ASIC’s support a large number of ports ranging from 10/100Mb/s, 1Gb/s, 10Gb/s, 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s speeds as well as various line interfaces and protocols.Bringing these complex chips to market on aggressive schedules and with first time silicon success to meet customer requirements and success requires a world class team of engineers including design as well as verification and validation experts. The process of taking a chip to production requires efficient and complete qualification and validation processes that could become a bottleneck if not tuned and managed correctly. The end-to-end verification and validation flow for ASIC’s and system level implications of performance etc… Is a key part of bringing a product to market and making customers successful with adoption of the technology?
The successful candidate will be responsible for various key tasks in the areas of verification of cutting edge switch routing designs system designs specifically targeted to traffic management within the switch. The day-to-day tasks for this position include but are not limited to the following: – be able to understand design spec. – come up with testplan based on design spec. – work on simulation environment and be able to debug issues.
Job Requirements:
– Total engineering minimum experience required is typically a BS degree and 9 years of experience, an MS degree and 6 years of experience or a PhD and 3 years of experience or equivalent.
– BSEE (Electrical Engineering) required, MSEE preferred or equivalent.
– Must have excellent knowledge and experience of ASIC design verification flows and methodologies.
– Good Knowledge in languages relevant to the ASIC verification process including Verilog, SystemVerilog, Unix Scripting, and C.
– Self-motivated, excellent communication skills and ability to excel in a team environment.
– Experience in the Ethernet Network Switch/Fabric field is a plus.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
