Police Data Entry Clerk job - City of Lakewood, Ohio - Lakewood, OH


The City of Lakewood is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Data Entry Clerk in the Police Department. This position processes citations, offense incident reports, motor vehicle accident reports, tickets and other information. The candidate will be checking reports for completeness and accuracy and making necessary changes, generating booking numbers, entering incident/accident reports, citations, warrants and other related information into computer system, pulling warrants and maintaining filing system. The selected candidate will perform clerical functions such as answering telephones, providing information to callers, receiving citizen complaints and tips, and directing calls and messages to appropriate staff member. The position is responsible for processing record checks, tow releases, clearance letters, license requests and fingerprint requests; maintains cash register; takes in, accounts for and issues receipts for money; balances register against receipts daily; deposits money. Interviews, screens, greets visitors and directs them to the appropriate area or individual; may answer various inquiries personally. Coordinates property pickup with staff. Conducts research and provides information, statistics and/or reports to staff, court officials, etc; updates records upon receiving supplemental and clearance information. Accesses, reviews, processes and/or revises information in REDDS, LEADS and/or NCIC, including: running criminal and driving histories/background checks, licensing information and other investigative information; and verifying information at the request of staff. Must have good computer skills.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
·Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED.
·Must possess a valid Ohio Driver License with less than eight (8) points.
·Must maintain good grooming and appearance for daily contact with the public.
·Must maintain a demeanor suitable for dealing with the public and maintain a good public relations attitude when dealing with complaints.
·Must have a clear background with no criminal history and participate in polygraph testing.
·Must satisfactorily complete a drug screening and police background investigation.
·Must obtain REDDS/LEADS/NCIC Operator or other required certifications within 30 days of appointment to position.


Salary: $31,563.00 /year
