Organization Profile

Partners in Health (PIH) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Boston, MA, whose mission is to provide quality health care for the poor and marginalized in Haiti, Rwanda, Lesotho, Malawi, Peru, Mexico, Russia, Dominican Republic, and Navajo Nation. In addition, PIH has a growing network of affiliated organizations and initiatives in other countries including Nepal, Burundi, Mali, Liberia and Togo. Through service delivery, training, advocacy and research, PIH works around the globe to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of it, to serve as an antidote to despair, and to inspire others to do the same.

Build Health International (BHI) builds facilities that make it possible for global health organizations such as Partners in Health to deliver quality and accessible health care to those who need it most. BHI works with organizations that provide free or substantially subsidized health care, and its priority is to serve the poorest among us, while working in close partnership with effective NGOs and the public sector. BHI blends aspects of North American design and systems with the materials, building techniques and systems that are appropriate to resource-constrained environments tailored to each project’s location. The PIH Infrastructure Office is housed at Build Health International in Beverly, Massachusetts.
