The City of Bloomington is looking for an individual to perform a variety of office-related tasks in Bloomington’s Motor Vehicle Office.
Examples of Duties: Checks and processes a wide variety of documents such as filing of data, forms and reports, completion of reports, and processing of various records and information
Maintains records in assigned area of accountability and performs prompt filing and processing
Receives, answers, or refers telephone and/or in-person inquiries, complaints, questions, etc., in a tactful and pleasing manner
Maintains contacts with other City employees and provides existing information concerning departmental or divisional functions and procedures
Operates various office equipment
Receives applications for various uses and insures that information on application is complete and processed properly
Performs other duties as assigned
Assist customers with the completion of Motor Vehicle and Driver’s License applications
Operate camera and eye testing equipment for Drivers’ Licenses
Issue stickers and plate: Computes and collects proper fees
Takes daily inventory and sorts all applications
Minimum/Desirable Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
High School graduation or equivalent
One year of customer service experience in an office environment
Good clerical aptitude and organizational skills
Excellent mathematical aptitude
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the public and other employees
Ability to function as part of a team
Ability to work a flexible day shift
Ability to stand for extended periods of time Desirable Qualifications
Working knowledge of governmental operations
One year experience in a Deputy Registrar or Auto Dealer titling office
Experience with a high volume of customer transactions daily (300+)
Supplemental Information: Full-Time, Benefits-Eligible Position; Non-Union; Non-Exempt
2016 Salary Range: $20.46 – $23.93
