Job Responsibilities:
Schedule and monitor cleanup efforts, including coordinating with contract staff, law enforcement, city employees, and other individuals and organizations as needed to ensure work meets established requirements and standards.
Coordinate the activities of HEC staff; determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and determine methods for expediting workflow.
Perform the duties of HEC Field Coordinators as needed to provide backup coverage.
Works closely with HEC team members on priorities that require multi-departmental focus dealing with a variety of codes and regulations relevant to site abatement throughout the City of Seattle.
Respond and initiate remedies to customer requests, inquiries, and complaints regarding cleanup sites.
Maintain appropriate records and provide required reports and documentation.
Prepare and monitor unit budget relative to assigned contracted services, supplies and equipment.
Develop and maintain an effective liaison with other local government officials, and the public at large; represent the department and the City before local government bodies and community organizations.
Analyze and prioritize operational objectives. Develop and implement operating policies and procedures consistent with established parameters and guidelines.
Represent the department in meetings, conferences, and public appearances.
Develop or assist in developing requests for proposals and contracts with service providers; ensure compliance with City requirements.
Support the preparation of a long term strategic cleanup plan that will be required by department heads, Mayor’s Office, senior staff, the City Council, and the public.
Responsible for the unit’s written materials, to include the organization and maintenance of the policy and procedure manual.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in project management or a related field.
- A combination of education, training and/or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of this position may be considered.
Other Requirements:
- Valid WA State Driver’s license.
- Successfully pass a criminal background check.
- This position may require you to stand, climb, walk or bend, squat, kneel, or work overhead, for extended periods of time, outdoors.
- Required to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally requires handling or working with toxic/hazardous substances.
