Human Resources Office Assistant - City of Foley, Alabama - Foley, AL






The City of Foley is accepting applications for a full-time position of Human Resources (HR) Office Assistant for the City’s HR Division. Under general supervision, serves as the first point of contact for Human Resources for incoming phone calls and/or walk-ins. Enters new employees into the various payroll systems and issues employee ID badges. Distributes and tracks receipt of job descriptions, end of probation forms, and various other types of required employee documentation. Coordinates the City’s quarterly random substance abuse testing process as required by the City’s Substance Abuse policy. Serves as filing clerk for the Human Resources Division and performs various other duties in support of Human Resources operations.
The successful candidate must be proficient in MS Word and Excel, internet, and email. Must have data entry and filing experience and have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of various types of information. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of one to two years of experience in a job related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Starting annual salary is $29,597 with excellent benefits including paid health, dental and life insurance, retirement through the State of Alabama Retirement Systems, disability income coverage, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Successful applicant must pass both a drug test and a background check, which includes driving record and criminal background check.
