The Maintenance Engineer creates an experience for our hotel guests by offering them a larger than home experience with a welcoming appearance by maintaining a clean, comfortable and inviting environment. Requirements :
- General knowledge in plumbing, electricity, HVAC and carpentry
- General knowledge of tools used in above task
- A willingness to help other departments as time permits
- Must be able to lift over 50lbs. repeatedly
- Must be available to work day or evening shift, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to repeatedly and continuously bend, reach, lift, push, and twist
General Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain all company equipment, structures, and furnishings.
- Perform all assignments as directed by the General Manager, assuring quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness.
Essential Job Functions:
- Main task of a hotel maintenance manager is to perform general, preventive and emergency maintenance
Operational skills
- High operational skills are required to know all types of maintenance jobs such as repairing, working of equipment, engineering works, etc.
Customer service skills
- Hotel maintenance is all about providing high amount of quality to its customers
Interpersonal skills
- A Maintenance Engineer should have good interpersonal skills as he/she deals with superiors, collogues and different kinds of customers.
Management skills:
- Be able to give direction to others as needed
Scheduling and planning skills
- A Maintenance Engineer has to perform a number of jobs at a time thus the ability to plan and schedule efficiently is imperative
Specific Task
- Handle general room calls (TV’s, lights, plumbing, heating/cooling etc.)
- Complete projects as directed (including but not limited to: painting, drywall patching, general carpentry, general plumbing)
- Spot checking rooms and public areas making any necessary repairs
- Test and maintain pool
- Assist guests and visitors with needs on a daily basis
- Adjusting computer set points temperature control
- Pick up trash in and around the facility
- Perform repairs and test equipment, ranging from HVAC and refrigeration units to kitchen equipment, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheet metal, tile repair, roof repair, welding, painting, masonry and appliances in a safe and timely manner
- Install any new equipment for the facility
- Properly complete the daily Maintenance Requests and/or log sheets and turns them in to the General Manager
- Follow all rules and regulations as set forth in employee handbook
