Position Purpose
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Blended Finance Officer is responsible for developing a blended capital strategy for Pact Ventures’ new social enterprise acceleration program, creatively combining grants, contracts, and revenue to create a robust and resilient model.


Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development
•Conduct research on best practices in resourcing social enterprise strengthening activities
•Assist the Managing Director in developing revenue goals for the next two to three years of the initiative
•Develop a strategy for how to meet those goals through a mix of fee-for-service revenue and philanthropic support
•Connect Pact Ventures’ revenue generation strategy with Pact’s Opportunity Development team and shared value strategy
Partnership Development
•Identify and connect with other companies and organizations with whom Pact Ventures has aligned goals and design creative partnerships to advance the mutual aspects of our mission
•Identify and create relationships with mission-aligned impact investing firms
Fundraising
•Strengthen Pact Ventures’ relationships with philanthropic donors interested in fourth sector issues
•Write grant proposals, with a high degree of accountability for dollars raised
Marketing and Public Relations
•Build Pact Ventures’ brand recognition through targeted marketing and communications, including press releases, blog posts, and external speaking engagements
•Work with Pact’s Marketing and Communications team to develop Pact Ventures’ web and presence
Training and Mentoring
•Work directly with Pact Ventures portfolio companies in a mentoring capacity to help them develop their own blended capital strategies
•Create original training materials and resources for Pact Ventures partner training events


Basic Requirements
•A sincere commitment to Pact’s mission
•A demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally with collegiality, humility, and respect
•Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years of work experience
•Experience working in either a social enterprise, incubator, or investor, or in the fields of fundraising, marketing and communications, or finance
•Proven experience creating new revenue generating products or raising philanthropic capital through grants or private fundraising
•Excellent writing and communications skills
•Occasional travel may be required.


Preferred Qualifications
•MBA or Masters Degree
•Experience working in offices with a Pact country office, especially Ukraine, Myanmar, or Nigeria
•Proficiency in a second language, with preference for Ukrainian or Russian
