Hydro-Klean is seeking a Mechanic for our Sioux Falls, SD location. Under the general direction of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for the service, maintenance and upkeep of the Hydro-Klean fleet for the Sioux Falls and Watertownlocations.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment at the Sioux Falls and Watertown locations
Implements and monitors a preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance is scheduled and completed
Maintains a complete and up-to-date inventory of all maintenance records
Enforces Hydro-Klean safety practices and procedures and ensures employees receive appropriate safety training
Ensures that all vehicles and equipment purchased are licensed and registered as required by State laws
Weld; replaces and repairs parts; repairs electrical systems; performs tune ups and engine overhauls along with trouble shooting techniques
Examines reports for accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment that is repaired; writes reports on vehicles and equipment repaired
Keeps maintenance and repair records; performs preventative maintenance on all vehicles and orders repair parts
Checks all repair work performed in shop for completeness; including physical inspections and road tests before vehicle/equipment is put back into service
Responsible for maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and associated equipment at the Sioux Falls and Watertown offices
Communicates effectively with Logistics and Operations to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed on a timely and efficient basis
Performs other related duties as required
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Computer skills, specifically the ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations
Effective planning, organizing and decision-making skills
Ability to multi-task
Possesses high analytical skills and ethical standards
Possess an in depth knowledge of large truck diesel motors, transmissions, brake and hydraulic systems
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have course work in auto and equipment mechanics at a trade school.Knowledge of industrial blower and vacuum trucks is preferred
Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience as a mechanic
Licenses/Certifications: Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements within 3 months of hire.Must also meet insurability guidelines per Company standards
Travel: 25% travel and overnight stays required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities
Regularly performs tasks requiring climbing, crawling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and gripping
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Work is performed in mostly an industrial setting with some office work
Frequent exposure to industrial environments involving heights, confined spaces, hazardous equipment, noise, dust, chemicals, odors and fumes
