We are hiring to fill 18 positions at our Contact Center. These positions are set to start on July 27th, 2015. Schedules for the position will varied from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Part-time hours are typically 20-30 hours per week.
Temp to Hire, Part-time Customer Service Rep (T15-018)
Starting Wage: $15.65 per hour
Customer Service Representatives are front-line employees who embody PGE core values while providing customers World Class service. These employees assist customers when they call in with change of service requests, payment arrangements and questions. They maintain confidentiality while navigating customers through sensitive situations. Through excellent interpersonal and service skills Customer Service Representatives maintain PGE’s relationships with our customers building PGE advocates in our communities.
Qualified candidates will have:
At least 2 years of customer service experience preferred
Mastery of communication skills to promote an excellent customer experience/interaction: verbal skills, able to build rapport; flexing communication style
Utilizing empathy and soft skills to de-escalate highly emotional situations in order to ensure a quality customer interaction
Mastery of problem-solving utilizing analytical skills
Intuitive processing and critical thinking
Effective conflict resolution skills
Effectively balance multiple priorities simultaneously
Thorough knowledge of all functionalities of Excel, Word, & Outlook including task list
Mastery of keyboarding skills at 25+ words per minute
Competency in basic mathematics
Bilingualism desired
Valid driver’s license preferred

Assisting with storms or other Company emergencies is a part of all positions at Portland General Electric. Must be able to pass customer service skill assessments, pre-employment drug test and background check. Health and welfare benefits are available after 60 days of continuous employment. Regular, part-time or full time positions may be available at the end of temporary assignment.
